“To find inspiration I head West. Following rivers up through cottonwoods and canyons to the majestic Rocky Mountains of Colorado. It is here in
historic mountain towns surrounded by wilderness that I find my creativity.“
Nicholas challenges his brush with inventive compositions and a broad range of subjects from intimate scenes of mountain life to expansive views of the Rocky Mountains. He started traveling the world with his grandparents at age 10. Art destinations and museums around the world including the Egyptian museum in Cairo, Monet’s garden at Giverny, masterpieces of the Italian Renaissance throughout Italy, cave paintings in Botswana and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston have all influenced his love of art. Nicholas studied in Paris and Florence before graduating from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2001 with a BFA in Painting.
“To be creative is to give meaning to life. I live to paint, to challenge myself with new subjects and approaches. To discover through paint how to see the world, the truth and the immense beauty around us. “
